  1. Who are the characters in this story? The characters in this story are Pania, Matiu and Uncle Hone.

2. What did Matiu’s tummy feel like when they were on their way up?  Matiu’s tummy felt like Jelly.

3. What did the woman in the lift hate? The woman hates the height.

4. Finish the sentence: The view was incredible - the city was laid out before them…….  Like a town for ants.

5. What was the floor made out of ? The floor was made out of Glass.

6. How high were they? They were only 292 metres high.

7. What did the woman from the lift squeal when the man jumped? The woman who hated heights squealed “I think I’m going to faint!”

8. How heavy do jumpers have to be? The jumpers must be 35kg or more to Jump.

9. Was Matiu allowed to jump? Yes Matiu is allowed to Jump.

10. How did Matiu get the photo of him jumping? Their were a photographer on the viewing deck.

Journey to the Skeleton Coast

  1. Where is the Skeleton Coast? Skeleton Coast is four thousand kilometres across Africa from Zimbabwe to Namibia.

2. Why was it an ideal time to travel? They traveled to Skeleton Coast because their are bones in the washed up at Skeleton Coast.

3. What happened when they got stopped at Customs leaving Zimbabwae? They got stopped because they were not allowed to hold foreign currency.

4. What did the soldiers say to the people each time they got to them? The soldiers told them we need to search your vehicle.

5. What weapons were the soldiers holding? The soldiers were holding rifles.

6. What kind of animal tried to keep up with them in their car? A ostrich kept up with them.

7. What is a land mine? A land mine is just like a bomb but it is stuck to the ground if you get close to the bomb can explode. It can also be underground.

8. What happened at the last roadblock? At the last roadblock armed soldiers told them to get out of the car and they began to load their food into their packs.

9. What was on the beach on page 12? On the beaches there were thousands of seals.

10. What other animals did they see? They saw an occasional kudu, Guerrilla fighters, Seals and a Ostrich.

The kids had brought blankets sleeping bags. They slept on a mattress.

Next morning the kids are wide awake to search for Puanga in the sky.

The sky was super clear that the kids could see the stars
and the moon quite well.

The kids took photos to show their parents.

After they looked at in the telescope they showed Paul the photos.

Paul said very good to the children.

When they got home they showed their parents and their parents said “Wow I’ve never seen a star and a moon that close.”
