    Knowledge A

First: I was very sad when Mum wouldn't let Grandpa take me fishing. “Your cold’s far too bad for you to go messing around on that cold, windy wharf” said Mum while picking up her purse. “I’m just going down to the shop. I won’t be long” said Mum.

Secondly: Grandpa stared out the window. “I’ve had a brainwave,” he said. We can go fishing right here in the back garden.” He rummaged in the broom cupboard and hauled out an old broom handle. Then he dug around in the recycling bin and pulled out an empty soup tin.

Third: He punched a hole on each side of it with a tin-opener. Then he took some wire out of the bits and pieces drawer and carefully tied the tin to the end of the broom handle.

Fourth: “There.” said Grandpa, looking pleased with himself. “How’s that for a fish rod?” I felt a bit disappointed. It didn’t look much like a fish rod to me. “We can’t catch fish with a tomato soup tin,” I said. “And we haven’t even got any water.” Grandpa smiled mysteriously. “I didn’t say we were going to catch fish,” he said. “I just said we were going to go fishing.”

Finally: Me and grandpa went at the back garden pretend that we were fishing.

Knowledge B
  • Grandpa is very old.
  • Sometimes grumpy when people don’t listen to him.
  • He wears glasses.
  • In the cold he wears a green warm coat.
  • In the cold he also wears a beanie.
  • He loves to go fishing.

Finishing sentences: I didn’t say we were going to catch fish. I just said we were going to go fishing.

Let’s see if the fish are biting.

It’s a pretty good catch.

A lot of snappy dogfish around  today, don’t you think?

Just one more fish.

Get me out before this dog eats me alive.

AnC: A nectarine tastes like a delicious, tasty, sour fruit.
A nectarine is the opposite of peach.

NIC (New ending) When mum just left me and grandpa i had nothing to do because mum said i couldn't go so i played with my toys grandpa could go fishing so he did he bought some nectarines back home mum got home just when grandpa did then we ate nectarine for lunch.

I would rate this a 10 out of 10 because it is about fruits and grandpa is very funny in this story there is also a recipe for a nectarine cupcake.
