2. What are Kuri? Kuri are dogs from Aotearoa New Zealand.

3. What have people found in Hawaii? In Hawaii the cook islands people found dog bones that are hundreds or even thousands of years old.

4. Who did Kuri arrive with? Kuri arrived in Aotearoa New Zealand with the early Polynesian voyagers.

5. Who was Taneatua? Taneatua is a well known explorer. The waka that landed at Whakatane. When Taneatua arrived in Aotearoa, he began exploring the forests and hills of the Urewera.

6. What is Mataatua? Mataatua is a waka, great voyaging canoes.

7. What is the hill called? The hills name is Otarahioi the hill is also known as Te Kuri a Taneatua.

8. What valley did Taneatua leave another one of his dogs in? Taneatua left another of his dogs in the Ruatoki valley.

9. Who is Captain Cook? (you might need to do some research) Captain cook is a british explorer.

10. What happened to the dogs when they attacked sheep? When the dogs attacked the sheeps the farmers didn't like dogs running wild and attacking their sheep, so these dogs were often shot and killed.
